The Champions for Life Foundation works with a variety of organizations and partners to deliver a physical literacy programs and educate the public about physical literacy. Our primary mission is to help children from disadvantaged neighbourhoods where social and health risks are greatest.
Champions for Life is aimed primarily at children aged 5 to 8 in schools and communities. The program is a complement to the learning that children do in their physical education classes. It aims to capitalize on opportunities to learn and allow children more opportunities to reinforce the skills seen from their physical education teachers.
Through fun activities and games, children develop motor skills such as running, jumping, throwing and catching. Positive experiences develop confidence, motivation and self-esteem. The ultimate goal of the program is for each child to feel good, confident and motivated to continue to participate in physical activities throughout their lives.
