The Champions for Life physical activity Program Leader teaches FUNdamental movement skills (run, jump, hop, throw, catch, etc.) to children ages 4-8 through engaging activities and games. The program is offered to children who attend after-school daycare.

Leader responsibilities:


  • Lead (2) groups of children after school. 
  • Complete the online training program.
  • Follow the Champions for Life program using the session plans available through our online platform and resources. 
  • Maintain ongoing communication with school personnel and the Director of Operations. 
  • Work in collaboration with the school's daycare educators. 

Job requirements:


  • Experience working with children in physical activity settings. 
  • Police background verification. 
  • Be available for a training session. Training will be remunerated.

  • What should I know to be a program leader?

    1. The program's goal is to help children learn to move in ways that will encourage them to be physically active for life. 
    2. We'll give you all the guidance, lesson plans and training required to ensure you know what to do.
    3. We hire dynamic program leaders with experience animating children's programs in physical activity settings. 
    4. You must pass a police background verification (provided) and be available for a compulsory training session on the Champions for Life program.
  • When does the program leader position start?

    Start: Week of October 2, 2023

    Duration: Fixed-term contract for 20 weeks.

    Frequency: (2) x 30 minutes sessions, once a week.

    When: After school, during daycare.

    Location: School location to be determined.

  • What is the salary for the program leader position?

    1. You will lead (2) 30-minute physical literacy sessions after school. This is a fixed-term contract for 20 weeks. 
    2. You will be compensated at CA$40.00 per hour for 20 hours of direct program delivery throughout the school year.
    3. Your Champions for Life Program training will also be remunerated.
