Make sure you have all the necessary equipment for your events. This could include cones, balls, stopwatches, measuring tape, and ribbons or medals for fun awards.

Invite Family and Friends

The more, the merrier! Invite extended family, friends, and neighbours to join in the fun.

Connecting to the Olympic Spirit

Every Olympian's journey begins with learning and mastering basic movements. Whether it's the speed and agility of a sprinter, the balance and precision of a gymnast, or the coordination and strength of a swimmer, these fundamental skills are the building blocks of athletic success. By hosting a Family Mini Olympics, you're not only having a great time but also helping to lay the foundation for a lifetime of physical activity.

The Importance Strengthening Our Physical Literacy

Physical literacy is all about developing the skills, confidence, and love for movement that enable people to be active for life. It includes a wide range of fundamental movements such as running, jumping, throwing, and balancing. By participating in activities like the Family Mini Olympics, children and adults alike can improve their physical literacy in a fun and supportive environment.

Encouraging Lifelong Activity

Staying active is crucial for both physical and mental well-being. Activities like the Family Mini Olympics foster a love for movement, teamwork, and healthy competition. They also provide an opportunity for family bonding and create lasting memories.
