PHE Canada Endorses the Champions for Life Physical Literacy Program
We're thrilled to announce that PHE Canada has officially endorsed the Champions for Life After-School Physical Literacy Program and our comprehensive Physical Literacy Resources for PE Teachers!
At the Champions for Life Foundation, we are dedicated to empowering children aged 4 to 12 by helping them develop essential physical literacy skills that foster a lifelong love of movement. As a charitable organization, we aim to provide accessible physical literacy programs, expert guidance, and resources to schools across Canada, particularly those in under-resourced communities.
Following an extensive review and evaluation by subject matter experts, PHE Canada has endorsed two of our core offerings for their effectiveness in supporting physical activity and the development of physical literacy in elementary-aged students.
Physical Literacy Program (Ages 4-8)
Our flagship 20-session [After-School] program is designed to teach children fundamental movement skills through fun, progressive activities. Tailored for children aged 4-8, the program encourages competence, confidence, and a deep understanding of physical literacy through demonstrations, practice, games, challenge stations, and rewards. The aim is simple: to help every child build the skills and motivation they need to be active.
Physical Literacy Resources for PE Teachers
For PE teachers looking to elevate their physical education classes, our Physical Literacy Resources are the perfect fit. Covering grades K-6, these comprehensive resources include tools, lesson plans, activity guides, and our exclusive Champions for Life Movement Skills Cue Cards. Whether you're looking for hard-copy materials or digital downloads, our resources (available in English and French) make supporting your students' physical literacy journey easy.
